LOCKPORT, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team scored its first victory of the season on Sunday afternoon, defeating North Park University by a 5-2 count at Challenge Fitness.
Anna Bintsarovskaya and
Heither Heintz each landed a pair of victories on the day to lead the Saints (1-3). The duo first teamed up to win 6-3 at No. 1 doubles before going on to claim their singles matches.
The doubles win combined with North Park defaulting at the No. 3 spot provided USF with its first point of the day. The other four wins all came on the singles side.
After North Park (4-7) defaulted at No. 6 singles,
Gwen Baker provided the most convincing win for USF with her 6-1, 6-1 victory in the No. 5 position. Heintz then sealed the team victory with her 6-0, 6-3 decision at No. 2.
Bintsarovskaya provided the other singles win, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1.
