ELGIN, Ill. -- A .510 shooting mark from the field provided the momentum the University of St. Francis men's basketball team needed in its quest for its twelfth win of the 2025-26 season with a 77-54 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Judson University on Wednesday night. Nine Saints contributed to the scoring column in the decisive win which improves the Saints' record to 12-6 overall, and 7-4 in league play.
St. Francis' 43 points in the second half, which came off 15 field goals in 32 attempts, six treys, and a perfect 7-for-7 showing from the free throw line, lead the Saints to outscore the Eagles 43-26 after the break and pull away for the 23-point win.
Topping the list of Saint scorers were
Joffrey Nunnally and
Merrick Small who both went 7-for-10 from the field with the former totaling 20 points and Small recording 19 markers.
Dakoda Joachim netted 12 points with his 4-for-5 day from the field, while
Damarcies Moore capped the group of top scorers with his nine points.
After Judson (3-16, 0-11 CCAC) took its only lead of the night (24-23) with 5:12 remaining in the first half, the Saints scored 11 of the next 14 points to go up 34-28 by the intermission. St. Francis would eventually double that margin midway through the second frame (50-38) before pulling away in the last five minutes of the game when a 17-4 scoring run - highlighted by three long range daggers - produced the 23-point margin at the game's completion.
Judson's EJ Reese led all Eagle scorers, finishing with 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds for the game's lone double-double.
