NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- NAIA No. 15-ranked Holy Cross College (ind.) put an end to the women's tennis season for the University of St. Francis on Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Fighting Saints 4-0 in semifinal-round action of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
In each of the three matches that were completed, Holy Cross (8-5) did not yield a point, winning 6-0 at No. 2 doubles and by 6-0, 6-0 counts at Nos. 4 and 5 singles. The hosts' other victories – No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles – were by forfeit.
Gabriella Noa provided the most game wins on the day for USF, totaling a combined four victories. Her doubles match paired with
Anna Bintsarovskaya saw them trailing 3-1 when play was halted due to the doubles portion of the contest having been decided. In singles play, she dropped the first set at No. 2, 6-3.
Heather Heintz was next in line with two game victories at No. 3 singles. Her match was stopped at 6-1, 3-1.
The Saints finished their season at 2-7.
