LOCKPORT, Ill. --- Continuing its four-match homestand on Thursday afternoon, the University of St. Francis men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to St. Ambrose University in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Challenge Fitness.
St. Ambrose (8-9, 1-3 CCAC) combined a No. 3 doubles forfeit with a 6-0 victory in the No. 2 slot to gain the first point of the match.
On the singles side, the Fighting Bees only needed a 6-0, 6-1 decision in the No. 1 spot to earn the team victory. That was combined with a pair of forfeit wins at Nos. 5 and 6.
USF's most success came at No. 1 doubles, where the team of
Jedriel Bondoc and
Lucas Fernandez-Pedrera trailed just 3-2 before the match was halted. Fernandez also won a pair of games at No. 2 singles before that match was stopped.
