Box Score LOCKPORT, Ill. ---
Anna Bintsarovskaya and
Gabriella Noa each scored a pair of wins, but the University of St. Francis women's tennis team still came up on the short end of a 5-2 decision to NCAA II Roosevelt University on Saturday night at Challenge Fitness. The setback evens the Saints' record at 1-1 on the season.
The duo had quite the doubles match to start off the night, outlasting the Lakers' No. 1 team 7-6 (7-3). Roosevelt, however, came back to win in the No. 2 spot (6-0) and won by default at No. 3 to gain the first point of the match.
The guests also claimed four of the six singles matches to improve to 5-4 on the season. They could not come away with a victory in the first two slots, however, courtesy of Bintsarovskaya and Noa. The former won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, with Noa earning a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 2.
Eva Kubilius also played well for St. Francis before falling 6-4, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot.
