INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The University of St. Francis women's soccer team suffered their third loss of the season on Tuesday night with a 5-0 defeat to NAIA No. 17-ranked Marian University (Ind.). The shutout, Marian's fifth of the season, pushed the Knights' record to 5-1-1 on the season, while the Fighting Saints fell to 1-3-2.
First Half
Marian's offense took control from the onset, attacking the St. Francis net five times in the first 10 minutes of play, resulting in a pair of saves from USF keeper
Krystal Rodriguez. After ricocheting a shot off the post in the 13th minute, the Knights connected for the only goal they would need in the 15th minute. Marian put away its second goal of the half in the 32nd minute to extend the lead to 2-0. The score would hold at that score entering halftime with the Knights out-shooting the Saints 11-0.
Second Half
Three minutes into the second half, Marian would notch its third goal of the afternoon on its first try at the USF net. Similar to the first half, possession was dominated by Marian throughout the remaining 45 minutes with the Saints attempting three shots compared to the Knights' 10.

Ariadne Gonzalez and
Cassandra Rosales recorded USF's three shot attempts. Marian tacked on two more goals in the 67th and 81st minutes to produce the final score. Rodriquez finished the match with six total saves for St. Francis.

The Saints return to action Wednesday afternoon to face Indiana University Columbus at 1 pm in Columbus, Ind.
