BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. --- The University of St. Francis softball team continued its stingy ways on Friday when it extended its season-high winning streak to six games with 8-0 and 9-0 victories over Rochester Christian University (Mich.). The Fighting Saints have now held their last eight opponents to three runs or less resulting in a 7-1 record.
Slugging was the story of the day with USF (16-8) homering three times in Game 1 before registering seven doubles among its 11 hits in the nightcap.
Kiersten Manning turned in one of her top performances of the year by tossing a one-hitter in the opener and recording five hits, two runs and a pair of RBIs on the day. She provided one of the three home runs in the first contest and was one of seven different players to notch doubles in Game 2.
Isabella Landeros drove in the most runs (four) on four hits, including a solo home run.

Kirsten Kipfer combined on the shutouts.
Game 1: USF 8, Rochester Christian 0
The Saints took full advantage of four Rochester Christian errors in the first inning to plate four runs with Landeros driving home two on her single. The rest of USF's run production came on home runs with a two-run shot from
Jaelynn Taylor in the fourth inning and solo ones by Manning in the fifth inning and Landeros in the sixth inning.
Besides going 3-for-4 at the plate, Manning (9-3) allowed just two walks and one hit – all in the first inning – before retiring the final 16 batters she faced. She struck out 10 batters over the course of the six-inning contest.
Brittany Osborne,
Kylie Cook and Landeros each had two hits with Landeros driving in three runs.
Game 2: USF 9, Rochester Christian 0
All nine St. Francis starters posted at least one hit with seven of those players recording doubles. For the second game in a row, Manning and Landeros had multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with one run batted in each.
The Saints broke the game open in the second inning when they scored five times. Closs and
Kaylie Sippel each drove in a pair of runs in the inning.
Rose Mwaro and Osborne added RBI doubles one inning later.
Six of USF's seven doubles came in the second and third innings.
Closs (6-3) went the first four innings in the circle to pick up the win.
Kirsten Kipfer made her St. Francis debut one inning later, recording two strikeouts among her three outs in a clean fifth inning.
Notes: USF's three home runs in the opener and seven doubles in the nightcap were both team season highs … Osborne's two hits in the opener marked her team-leading 13th multi-hit game of the year … Taylor tied Osborne for the team lead in home runs with three … Osborne,
