Plenty of Fighting Saints produced in the offensive onslaught with no fewer than 12 players collecting hits on the day, including
Jake Klepacz and
Cliff Vickers, who each had a pair of multi-hit games. Klepacz went 5-for-9, while Vickers collected two hits in each end of the twinbill.
Brayan Hidalgo also had a big day with four hits and four runs batted in, including three on his first home run of the season.
On the pitching mound, starters
Ryan Daly and

Game 1: USF 7, Calumet St. Joseph 2
For the third start in a row, Daly (4-1) was dominant on the mound with 10 strikeouts over six innings, while scattering four hits and one walk. He allowed just one earned run.
The Saints (6-12, 4-2 CCAC) got on the board right at the start, putting up two runs in the first inning. They would break the game open in the fifth inning with three straight two-out hits from
Drew Dant,
John McGuire and Vickers to go up 7-0 before Calumet St. Joseph (11-15, 4-4) scored single runs in the bottom of the fifth and seventh innings.

Nate Maliska all collected a pair of hits with Vickers driving home two runs.
Game 2: USF 11, Calumet St. Joseph 10
The Saints built a 9-2 lead after three innings before holding their collective breaths in the ninth inning when the game ended on a line drive to right field with Crimson Wave runners on first and second base. Calumet scored eight runs over the final four innings to make things interesting in the end.
Hidalgo capped a big six-run second inning with his three-run home run.Â
Josh Kirnbauer and Klepacz also had RBI singles in the frame.
Hidalgo started the scoring one inning earlier, as well, with his RBI single.
Kirnbauer and Maliska drove in two more runs in the third inning with
Brant Singler and Dant adding crucial insurance runs with singles in the sixth and eighth innings.
Five different Saints registered multi-hit contests led by Klepacz and Hidalgo with three hits each.Â
Alex Martinez, Kirnbauer (2 RBI) and Vickers each totaled two hits.
Malczewski (1-2) delivered his best start of the season, striking out eight batters over his five innings to record his first win of the season. Dant recorded the final five outs for his second save of the season.
Notes: The Saints finished with 29 hits on the afternoon, including a season-high 17 in the nightcap … USF's 11 runs in Game 2 were also a season high … Hidalgo's four RBIs in the second game tied the season-high mark for a Saint player, while Martinez's three runs also represented a club high for a game … Klepacz's pair of multi-hit games tied him for the team lead with Maliska and Dant. All three players now have six such contests … Martinez took over the team lead in reaching base, extending his streak to 13 games with hits in each end of the twinbill. Klepacz extended his streak in the same category to eight straight games … The two teams wrap up the season series with a 1 pm doubleheader at Duly Health & Care Field on Friday weather pending.
