Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Harrison, Harris Lead Saints To 76-64 Win Over Judson

JOLIET, Ill. --- Tykara Harrison scored a career-high 33 points and Le'lani Harris put up 20 more markers to lead the University of St. Francis women's basketball team to a 76-64 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory at the Pat Sullivan Center on Saturday afternoon.

With the exception of the first one minute, 32 seconds, the Fighting Saints (9-17, 5-13 CCAC) led from start to finish thanks to a game-opening 63.6 percent shooting mark (7-of-11) in the first quarter to build an initial 22-14 lead.  Harrison and Harris both had nine points in the period.

USF would extend the lead to double digits in the second quarter when Harrison sparked an unanswered nine-point run with seven of the markers to go up 36-23 midway through the period.  Judson, however, went on an 11-3 surge to close the half and get the deficit down to 39-34 heading into the break.

The Eagles (2-23, 2-16) would never get any closer in the second half with St. Francis capping off the third quarter with seven straight points to put the Saints up 59-45 heading into the fourth quarter.  They would never see that advantage dip below 10 points in the final period.

Harrison finished the afternoon hitting 10 of her 19 shots from the field, including four three-pointers.  She also converted nine of her ten free-throw attempts, not to mention producing five steals.

Harris hit the 20-point mark for the second time this season.  She also was on target both overall (6-for-11) and at the foul line (6-for-6).

As a team, USF shot 46.9 percent overall (23-of-49), 35 percent from beyond the arc (7-of-20) and 76.7 percent at the free-throw line (23-of-30).

The Saints also held a 38-24 rebounding advantage thanks in part to the play of Mia Kennelly (10 rebounds, 7 points) and Keijah Gray (8 rebounds, 6 points).

Allyssa Potter led Judson with 19 points.

Notes: Harrison, who has scored in double figures in 19 straight games now, is averaging 25.0 points over her last six contests … Kennelly hit the trifecta with her third straight game pulling down exactly ten rebounds … Both USF's 23 free throws made and 30 attempts were season-high marks … The Saints play their final regular-season road contest of the year on Wednesday when they travel to Whiting, Ind. to face Calumet College of St. Joseph.
