CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. - The University of St. Francis women's tennis team traveled back to Prairie State College over the weekend, competing in its third and final tournament of the 2024 fall season as a team.
Anna Bintsarovskaya and
Gabriella Noa headlined the Fighting Saints' performances at the event, finishing the day going up against each other for the second straight weekend in the singles championship match.
Bintsarovskaya earned the crown by edging out her teammate with final counts of 7-5, 1-6, 1-0 (10-4).
Bintsarovskaya and Noa each registered their first wins of the day in the quarterfinals against
Sophia Taylor (6-0, 6-0) and
Eva Kubilius (6-0, 6-0), respectively.
Heather Heintz also registered a quarterfinal-round victory over
Emma Deitz (6-0, 6-0).
In semifinal action,
Bintsarovskaya and Noa each authored victories with Bintsarovskaya winning her match over Kennedy Deaton 6-0, 6-0 and Noa defeating Heintz 6-0, 6-1. The victories set the stage for the
all-USF showdown with
Bintsarovskaya claiming the championship.
Leah Villagomez also competed for the Saints on the day, losing her first-round matchup to Deaton with scores of 6-2, 7-5.

The match completed the team portion of the fall season for St. Francis. The Saints, however, will have one individual representative competing in the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. from Oct. 10-13. Junior
Anna Bintsarovskaya, who earned a bid to the ITA Cup after capturing the East-Central Regional crown on Sept. 13, will face the other regional qualifiers at the Rome Tennis Center.
