OAK BROOK, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis men's golf team placed four players among the top 15 finishers, including one playing as an individual, to bring home the Elmhurst University Spring Invite title on Thursday afternoon. The Fighting Saints edged out Carthage College by the slimmest of margins, 315-316, at the Oak Brook Golf Club.
Leading the charge was
Nolan Weis, who finished in a two-way tie for second place with his three-over-par 75.
EJ Charles also placed in the top ten, using his 78 as an individual to finish in a tie for ninth place.
Nathan Lunde had one of his best rounds in his first season as a collegiate performer, as well, registering a 79. USF got the rest of its scoring from
John Weis, who tied for 15th place (80), and
Andrew Rada (81).
Elmhurst's William Davis captured medalist honors with his one-over-par 73.
A total of 12 teams and 81 individuals made up the field.
The Saints are right back at it on Friday heading to Bloomington to compete in the two-day Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.
