PARK FOREST, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team continued its winning ways on Saturday night by claiming its fourth win in a row with its 4-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference season-opening victory against Olivet Nazarene University at the Park Forest Tennis Club.
The Fighting Saints (8-6, 2-0 CCAC) needed just a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles by
Gabriella Noa and
Denisse Lizano to clinch the first point of the match after Olivet Nazarene (0-6, 0-1) defaulted at No. 3 doubles. Head coach
Mark Ortega's club was also leading the No. 1 doubles match 3-2 when the doubles point was cinched.             Â
ONU also defaulted at No. 6 singles, leaving USF to need just two other singles wins to secure the match. Those victories came from Lizano and
Viyaleta Hordzich. Both won without yielding a game, authoring 6-0, 6-0 victories at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.
St. Francis was also leading in two of the other three singles matches when the contest was clinched.
Next up for the Saints is a home league matchup with Roosevelt University on Tuesday at 1 pm.
