LOCKPORT, Ill. --- Make it five wins in a row for the University of St. Francis women's tennis team after the Fighting Saints claimed a 7-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Roosevelt University on Tuesday afternoon.
USF (9-6, 2-0 CCAC) dominated the day with only one match allowing Roosevelt to win as many as three games in any one set. Securing a pair of wins each were
Denisse Lizano and
Gabriella Noa. They combined for a 6-1 victory at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Noa won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 and Lizano 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4. Other singles wins were posted by
Anna Bintsarovskaya at No. 1 (6-2, 6-0) and
Lieke Coenen, who won at No. 3 after her opponent retired in the second set.
USF's other three wins came by default at Nos. 5 and 6 singles and No. 3 doubles. Â Â Â
The Saints have the rest of the week off before traveling to Milwaukee next Wednesday to face NAIA No. 25-ranked Cardinal Stritch University in another league matchup.
