LOCKPORT, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team extended its winning streak to a season-high three matches with its 6-1 victory over Bethel University (Ind.) on Monday afternoon. The contest closed out a busy four-day stretch for the Fighting Saints, where they went 3-1.
Four different players landed a pair of wins on the day, including
Anna Bintsarovskaya and
Gabriella Noa, who have now each captured their last six combined singles and doubles matches. Others notching a pair of wins were
Denisse Lizano and
Lieke Coenen.
USF (7-6) earned its first point of the match with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles. Bintsarovskaya and Coenen did not yield a game at No. 1, while Lizano and Noa won 6-2 at No. 2.
All four players were equally as strong in singles play, where Bintsarovskaya won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 and Coenen earned a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 2. Noa and Lizano each allowed just two games to the opposition in a 6-2, 6-0 victory for Noa at No. 3 and a 6-1, 6-1 nod for Lizano in the No. 4 slot.
Heather Heintz provided USF's other win with her 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9) victory at No. 5.
