DeKALB, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team opened a busy four-match-in-four-day swing suffering a 6-1 defeat at the hands of NCAA I Northern Illinois University on Friday night.
USF's only victory on the night came via forfeit at No. 6 singles.
The only match to go to a third set came at No. 1 singles, where
Anna Bintsarovskaya opened with a 6-1 victory before falling 6-0, 6-4. The Saints' only other competitive match came at No. 3 singles, where
Denisse Lizano fell 6-3, 7-5.
Northern Illinois (11-9) opened the contest by claiming 6-3, 6-0 and 6-1 wins in the three doubles matches. In each of the Huskies' other three singles victories, they yielded no more than one game.
The Saints (4-6) are at Wheaton College on Saturday at 2 pm. Â
