Saint Anne, Ill. --- Led by
Nolan Weis' three-over-par 75, the University of St. Francis men's golf team earned a third-place finish out of nine teams at the weather-shortened Olivet Nazarene University Spring Tiger Invite on Friday. The meet was originally scheduled for two days, but inclement weather on Saturday morning canceled out the second day of play.
Weis finished in a three-way tie for seventh place, while teammate
Andrew Rada tied for 14th place with six other players. Each member of that group recorded a 78.
Nathan Lunde and
Brandyn Collins were just two strokes off that mark with rounds of 80. Right behind them were
John Weis and
Luke Petrovic at 81.
A total of 51 golfers made up the field with Parkland College's Roo Fenwick edging out teammate Jack Sciaudone for medalist honors on a tie-breaker. Both shot a 70.
Parkland had four players place in the top five, including one competing as an individual. The Cobras finished just one-over-par as a team with their 289. Host Olivet Nazarene was second at 305.
USF's next competition takes place on April 8 when it competes in the Elmhurst University Spring Invite.
