LOCKPORT, Ill. ---
Nikkie Christiansen secured the lone victory for the University of St. Francis women's tennis team Saturday afternoon as the Saints fell to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Olivet Nazarene University 4-1 at Challenge Fitness. Christiansen's victory came at No.3 singles, where she notched a 6-4, 6-1 win.
USF's only other shot at victory in singles play came in the No.2 slot, where
Gabriella Noa rallied to tie her match at one-all before falling 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
Maria Kuzminskaya was also leading in her match 6-2, 1-2 when the contest was halted.
In doubles play, USF (5-9, 1-1 CCAC) opened with a 6-3 win by
Denisse Lizano and
Kiana Sikich, but could not get a second victory to gain the first point of the match. Olivet Nazarene (5-8, 1-0) claimed the other two doubles contests, 6-1 at No.1 and 6-3 at No.3.
