LOCKPORT, Ill. --- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team claimed its second shutout of the season defeating North Park University 7-0 at Challenge Fitness on Sunday afternoon. Claiming a pair of victories each were
Gabriella Noa,
Nikkie Christiansen and
Michelle Robert.
Noa and Christiansen opened their day by combining on a 6-4 win at No.1 doubles. That came just after
Denisse Lizano and
Kiana Sikich won at No.2 doubles by that same score. USF's other doubles victory (7-5) was scored by Robert and
Grace Monahan.
Christiansen was just getting started at No.2 singles when her opponent retired in the third game for Christiansen's second victory. Noa was next in line at the No.1 spot with her straight set 6-0, 6-0 win.
Robert's match was the only one on the day that went to a third set tie-breaker against North Park (4-10). After splitting the first two sets 7-5, 3-6 at No. 6, she won 10-6.
The Saints' other three wins came from
Maria Kuzminskaya (6-3, 6-2 at No.3),
Yashleen Kheterpal (6-4, 6-3 at No.4), and
Viyaleta Hordzich (6-4, 6-1 at No.5).
