DeKALB, Ill. --- Going up against its second NCAA I foe of the week, the University of St. Francis women's tennis team suffered a 4-0 setback to Northern Illinois University on Friday night at Chick Evans Fieldhouse.
Northern Illinois (4-2) opened the match with 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2 victories in doubles action. The Saints' two game wins in each of those contests were secured by the No.2 team of
Nikkie Christiansen and
Maria Kuzminskaya and the No.3 unit of
Viyaleta Hordzich and
Yashleen Kheterpal.
In singles action, Christiansen was the only Saint (0-2) to win at least one game among the three matches that were completed. She dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision at No.2.
Up Next
The Saints continue their busy weekend with the second of three matches on Saturday when they face Concordia University (Wis.) in Mequon. The match is scheduled for 7 pm.
