JOLIET, Ill. --- A season-best .597 shooting mark from the field got the University of St. Francis men's basketball team back on track with a 94-60 victory over Eureka College to close out USF's own Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday afternoon. No less than five Saints produced at least ten points en route to the team's highest-scoring total of the season to snap a two-game skid.
St. Francis' 37 field goals in 62 attempts, 12 treys, 23 assists and ten steals were also season-high marks, leading the Saints to getting 16 players on the court on the day. Topping the list was
Darius Wright, who made all but one of his shots (7-for-8) for 16 points.
Aitor Anabitarte and
Nadav Gerner both went 5-for-7 from the field with the former totaling 14 points and Gerner recording 13 markers.
Casmir Ochiaka came off the bench to match Anabitarte's 14 points with his perfect day (7-for-7 from the field), while
Lewis McGlasson capped the group of double-figure scorers with his 10 points as a reserve.
After Eureka (1-6) took its only lead of the day to start the game, the Saints (2-2) scored 13 of the next 16 points to go up 13-5. They would eventually double that margin by halftime (41-25) before pulling away in the early part of the second half with ten of the first 12 points after the break. Eureka would never get the deficit under 22 points the rest of the afternoon.
Eureka's Cody Baer led all scorers, finishing with 17 points to go along with seven rebounds.
Notes: The game was stopped twice – once in each half – due to a power shortage in the neighborhood surrounding St. Francis leading Eureka head coach Chip Wilde to comment to USF head coach

Carter Fayhee registered a career-high eight on Sunday … Fayhee also tied Anabitarte for the team lead in rebounds with six each. As a team, the Saints out-boarded Eureka 40-27 …
