Saints Fall In Regular-Season Finale

JOLIET, Ill. --- The regular-season home finale did not go as planned for the University of St. Francis women's volleyball team as the Saints dropped a 25-19, 25-10, 25-18 decision to Judson University in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Tuesday night at the Sullivan Center.

The only set that was tight was the first one, where eight ties and six lead changes were included.  Two kills by Peyton Baird during a run of four points put St. Francis (19-17, 10-6 CCAC) up 13-11 and the Saints led as late as 17-15.  Judson, however, responded with the next eight points in a row to go up 23-17 and never looked back the rest of the night.

The Eagles (17-16, 8-8) jumped on top 14-6 in Set 2 and 13-4 in Set 3 to gain the match victory.

No Saint player had more than five kills for an offense that struggled to find its game, hitting at a .046 clip.  Judson, meanwhile, produced at a .291 percentage highlighted by Emmaline Davey's 15 kills.

St. Francis' leaders in the match included Hannah Pacheco with 12 assists and Desiree Anderson with 11 digs.

Notes: The program honored its four seniors – Peyton Baird, Hannah Monfre, Asia Owens and Hannah Pacheco – before the match … Also recognized was Stephanie Woods for reaching the 1,000-kill mark for her career in Saturday's match … The Saints, who have a bye in the final round of conference play on Thursday, will enter next week's CCAC Tournament as the No. 5 seed and will open on the road against an opponent to be determined.
