WHITING, Ind. --- After opening Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play with a victory last week, the University of St. Francis volleyball team took to the floor Tuesday night against Calumet College of St. Joseph. The Saints moved to 2-0 in the CCAC, dispatching the Crimson Wave in three sets, 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

How it happened

CCSJ scored the opening four points of the match, but USF quickly battled back, forcing multiple Crimson Wave errors. Stephanie Woods and Peyton Baird recorded blocks during the comeback.

USF found itself trailing 10-8 midway through the opening set. The Saints then went on an 11-1 run with Desiree Anderson serving.

The Saints hit .304 in the 25-17 opening-set win with just two errors.

St. Francis continued its strong offensive night in set two, hitting .316 with 16 kills and just four errors.

USF went on a 13-4 run to close out set two, winning 25-15. Anderson hammered home three of the final five points of the set for the Saints.

Seven different players picked up kills in the third set. Lauren Stefanski collected two of the final three kills for USF to take the set 25-23.

USF hit a season high .250 on the night with 37 kills and 13 errors.

Hannah Monfre led the offense with a season-high ten kills. She also did not commit an error.
