QUINCY, Ill. --- Making its 2021-22 season debut, the University of St. Francis women's tennis team came away with both a singles and doubles championship and one consolation title at the Quincy University QU Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Reservoir Park.
How It Happened
- Michelle Robert earned the singles title with a pair of victories in the F Draw Bracket. She had to go to a third-set tiebreaker in each match to notch the championship, winning 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 in her first match of the day and 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 in the title round.
-Yashleen Kheterpal also advanced to the championship round in the E Draw Bracket before falling in the title match, 6-2, 6-3. En route to the final round, she gained 6-3, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-7 (6), 10-2 wins.
Claiming USF's consolation championship wasÂ
Nikkie Christiansen in the C Draw Bracket. After falling on a third-set tiebreaker (3-6, 6-2, 10-4) to open the day, she ran away with the consolation crown with convincing 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 victories.

Viyaleta Horzich claiming three matches in the C Doubles Draw Bracket. They opened and closed play with 6-2 victories with a 7-5 win mixed in between.
In all, Kheterpal went 5-1 on the weekend.
