MILWAUKEE.---- The University of St. Francis women's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak come to an end after dropping a 4-0 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference decision to NAIA No.7 ranked Cardinal Stritch University on Sunday afternoon at Elite Fitness Club.
Cardinal Stritch (4-0, 4-0 CCAC) got things started with 6-2 and 6-0 victories at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles, respectively. The Wolves followed that up with three straight-set victories at Nos. 6, 2 and 5 singles. Maria Kuzminskaya (SR/Saint Petersburg, Russia) was the only Saint to earn a set victory on the day before her second set was stopped after the match had been decided.
With two matches remaining on the schedule, the Saints are currently 4-5 overall and 3-2 in CCAC play. Their next challenge will be against Indiana University South Bend on April 22. The league matchup is scheduled to begin at 1 pm at Challenge Fitness Indoor Courts.
