Charlesworth Ties School Three-Point Mark In Conference Win Over Lincoln

JOLIET, Ill. --- Justene Charlesworth tied a school record with her eight three pointers as one of two career highs authored by the senior guard Saturday afternoon in the University of St. Francis women's basketball team's 106-61 rout of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Lincoln College at the Sullivan Center. Her team high 24 points were also a personal best mark.

Charlesworth was one of seven different Saints to tally at least nine points in the largest scoring output by USF in nearly five years. The last time St. Francis hit the century mark came in a 114-102 victory over Olivet Nazarene University back on Feb. 15, 2017. Olivet Nazarene also provided the opposition when Jacqie Storm initially set the school record for three pointers in a game back on Feb. 10, 2007.

Charlesworth delivered her eight treys in 12 attempts as part of an overall 17-for-35 shooting mark from three-point range (.486) for the Saints on the afternoon. Braxtin Mickens provided another three in as many attempts, while Shadrian McDaniel and Jorja Bolton also delivered multiple baskets from beyond the arc. McDaniel finished with 18 points with Mickens totaling 11 and Bolton nine.

Jordan Pyle added another 13 points, five rebounds and five assists, while Andriana Acosta recorded 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals. Kalyn Sias-Chaney also hit for double figures with her 10 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Coming off their worst shooting effort of the season on Wednesday when they dropped their first league affair 57-53 to Indiana University Northwest, the Saints were on their mark in all three areas Saturday resulting in them doubling their score from three days earlier. Besides the strong long range shooting numbers, head coach John McGinty's squad converted at a .514 clip from the field overall (36-of-70) and was 17-of-19 at the foul line (.895).

Lincoln (1-7, 1-5) had shooting marks of .338 overall, .286 from three-point range and .583 at the free throw line, while also committing 26 turnovers. The Lynx were led by Autumn Goram's 28 points.

USF jumped out to a 28-17 lead after the first quarter and never led by less than double digits the rest of the afternoon with point totals of 22, 30 and 26 over the final three frames.
