Saints Regain Sole Possession of Top Spot In The League With 69-50 Win

NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- Jordan Pyle scored a season-high 19 points and the University of St. Francis women's basketball team moved back into sole possession of the top spot in the league standings with its 69-50 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Holy Cross College on Saturday afternoon.

Pyle delivered 13 of her 19 points in the opening half when the Saints (11-3, 8-1 CCAC) built a 29-20 advantage at the break. Andriana Acosta then scored the first five points of the third quarter and head coach John McGinty's club never led by less than 11 points the rest of the day.

That was primarily due to the Saints shooting 50 percent over their last three quarters (22-of-44) after hitting just four of their first 15 shots (26.7 percent) in the opening ten minutes. USF also outscored the hosts 40-10 in the paint and 36-20 over the middle two quarters.

Holy Cross turned in a 32.2 percent reading from the field (19-of-59).

Besides her 19 points, Pyle also amassed six rebounds, three assists and one block. Acosta recorded her sixth double double of the season and second in a row, totaling 18 points and a game high 14 rebounds. Shadrian McDaniel hit six off her 10 shots from the field to finish with 16 points.

Holy Cross (6-6, 2-5) was led by Jordyn Smith's 20 points and five assists.
