Delshawn Simms joined the Fighting Saints in July of 2026 as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team. The 2026-27 season will mark Simms’ first year as an assistant coach.
At St. Francis, Simms assists the program in coordination of practice plans, individual player development, and implementation of game strategies.
A two-year member of the USF men’s basketball program as a transfer from Olney Central College, Simms started 58 of 62 games from 2024-26. During those seasons, Simms averaged 5.9 ppg and 1.5 rpg, while dishing out 156 assists and collecting 48 steals from the guard position. Simms was a 63.3 percent free throw shooter, sank 92-of-222 three-pointers (41.4 percent) and connected on 122-of-286 field goal attempts (42.7 percent), totaling 367 points as a Fighting Saint. As of the completion of the 2025-26 season, Simms currently ranks 8th all-time in USF program history in single-season three-point percentage (.450) and 6th all-time in career three-point percentage (.414).
Simms is currently working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from USF, and is expected to graduate in May of 2027.
