Michael Kicmal joined the Fighting Saints in July of 2020 as an assistant coach for the men’s & women’s bowling teams. The 2025-26 season will mark Kicmal’s sixth year assisting each program.

At St. Francis, Kicmal assists the program in coordination of practice plans, individual player development, and implementation of strength & conditioning strategies.

A three-year member of the USF men’s bowling program, Kicmal was named a NAIA All-American (2nd Team) in 2017-18 after finishing the season ranked seventh in the nation with a 213.3 average in 55 individual games played.  During that same year, he authored three All-Tournament Team performances, including a 5th place overall finish in his first collegiate competition at the Kegel ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic.  In 2018-19, Kicmal earned his fourth All-Tournament Team honor and was later named the NAIA National Tournament MVP after St. Francis completed the season in third place.  Kicmal finished his career in 2019-20 after again leading the team in scoring average (206.7) and claiming his fifth career All-Tournament Team award.  Throughout his collegiate career (2017-2020), Kicmal authored a program-record career 208.6 average.

Along with his coaching involvement, Kicmal currently competes in the PBA regional circuit and has earned seven tournament cashes.  He has recorded 34 career 300 games and 17 career 800 series, with a high of 849.  In total, Kimcal has accumulated over 20 local and amateur tournament wins.  He concurrently is a part-time bowling coach at Rolling Lanes in Country side, Ill.

Kicmal graduated from the University of St. Francis (Ill.) in December of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in recreation & sport management.
