Alexandra Whittenhall joined the Fighting Saints in July of 2025 as the head coach for the women’s competitive dance team after serving as an assistant to the program serve during the 2024-25 season.  The 2025-26 season will mark Whittenhall’s combined second year on the Saints’ coaching staff, and first as head coach.

As an assistant during the 2024-25 season, Whittenhall assisted the program in obtaining one NAIA All-Americans and two NAIA Scholar Athletes.  The Saints secured three invitational titles that season, along with two second place finishes. 

Whittenhall previously served as a dance instructor for the Oswegoland Park District in Oswego, Ill. from 2018-2023, where she taught choreography to learners ranging from ages 3-18.  She is proficient in jazz, pom, hip-hop and ballet.

Whittenhall received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from University of St. Francis (Ill.) in May of 2024 and was a three-year member of the women’s dance program.  During her time as a student-athlete at USF, she was a three-time NAIA All-American, receiving NAIA First Team All-American accolades in 2023 and 2024, and Honorable Mention honors in 2022.  In 2023 and 2024, she was also named as the team’s most valuable player.  Whittenhall was a member of 11 first place invitational finishes between the 2022 and 2024 seasons, while also assisting in setting a school record with a score of 93.65 at the USF Invitational on 2/24/24.  During her junior year, the 2024 squad qualified for the program’s first ever NAIA National Dance appearance, in which they secured an 8th place overall team finish.  Academically, she earned Dean’s List honors in four of her six semesters and was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International and National Technical Honor Societies.  She was also the recipient of the NAIA’s distinguished Champion of Character Award in 2024. 

Whittenhall is currently working on her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Health Administration from University of St. Francis (Ill.) with an expected graduation in 2026.
