NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- The University of St. Francis men's tennis team opened the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference portion of its season by dropping a 4-0 decision to NAIA No. 9-ranked Holy Cross College on Saturday afternoon.
The Saints (0-5, 0-1 CCAC) claimed just one game on the day, which came from its No. 2 doubles team of
Justin Joseph and
Jack O'Donnell in a 6-1 setback. Holy Cross (6-2, 1-0) won the other doubles match played (No. 1) by a 6-0 count.
The hosts opened with two automatic wins in singles play due to the Saints only fielding four players on the day. The only match completed was a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set victory at No. 4 for Holy Cross.
