LOCKPORT, Ill. ---
Sebastian Bahamondes scored a pair of victories, but it was not enough for the University of St. Francis men's tennis team, which dropped a 5-2 decision to Bethel University (Ind.) on Wednesday afternoon at Challenge Fitness.
Bahamondes gained his wins in the first slot in both singles and doubles action. He teamed up with
Ignacio Hernandez for a 6-4 win before posting a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 singles victory.
Paul Wottgen produced USF's other victory. He rallied for a 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6) win at No. 3 singles.
Bethel (4-3) collected the match's first point by winning the other two doubles contests by 6-3 and 6-1 counts. The Pilots singles' wins came at Nos. 1, 4, 5 and 6.
The Saints (2-8) are off until March 26 when they host North Central College.
