Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Flores, Wottgen Victories Not Enough For Saints

ORLANDO, Fla. --- Aidan Flores and Paul Wottgen both won their matches in singles play for the University of St. Francis men's tennis team, but it was not enough to offset John Carroll University (OH), which claimed a 5-2 victory on Wednesday afternoon.

John Carroll (3-2) swept through doubles play, winning by 6-1, 6-2 and 6-4 counts. The Blue Streaks then took the first three singles matches in the minimum two sets to seal the team victory.

Flores gained the first win for the Saints (2-10) with his 6-4, 6-3 decision at No.6 singles. Wottgen followed with his 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 victory in the No.4 slot.

Erwan Le Guennec nearly made it a split decision in singles play for USF, but he came up just short in a 6-4, 7-5 setback at No.2 singles.
