LOCKPORT, Ill. --- NCAA II and neighboring rival Lewis University claimed a 7-0 victory over the University of St. Francis men's tennis team on Thursday afternoon at Challenge Fitness.
The Saints (2-12) battled Lewis (9-3) in doubles play with the team of
Aidan Flores and
Paul Wottgen just missing out on notching at least one win on the day. They fell 7-6 (7-4) at No.3 doubles.Â
Daniel Espinosa and
Martin Rayos Del Sol also played the Flyers' No.2 team of
Oskar Lusti and
Pedja Trifunovic to a 6-4 match. Lewis went on to gain a sweep of doubles play with its 6-3 victory in the No.1 slot.
In singles action, Flores again gained the best opportunity at earning a win. He fell 6-2, 7-5 at No.6. Wottgen was the only other Saint to win at least six games, falling 6-3, 6-3 at No.4.
